Ping has long built the best hybrids and G440 makes the point again: compact head, wood-like behaviour. The sole shape slips through grass rather than snagging, which is worth tens of metres out of rough compared with an iron. It suits 10 to 36 handicaps and is the first club a beginner should add to a starter set. In fitting we mainly adjust lie angle so the ball stops leaking left.
